UN Report shows the effective implementation of 'gun-control' in Great Britain

According to the recently released Seventh United Nations Survey of Crime Trends and Operations of Criminal Justice Systems, England's overall crime rate tops that of the United States in virtually every major category, including violent crimes.

If this isn't good news for the gun-control movement, we don't know what is.  Why_ Two reasons:

  • First: While this data doesn't support the idea that gun-control makes the Commoners any safer, it does demonstrate just how smashingly effective the GCN has been at removing the means by which Her Majesty's law-abiding subjects might employ unacceptable counter-violence. After all, "common sense" tells us that if Commoners were armed they'd bloody well be resisting all this crime, which would make the crime rates much lower.

  • Second: With the "failure" of these restrictions to stop crime, we here at the GCN can ask for (you guessed it) more restrictions on self-defense and public liberty!  Simply top notch!

As a result,  England is far more civilized than the Colonies, a.k.a. the USA, where potential victims resort to such unseemly behavior as "self defense" as reflected in their barbarically lower violent crime rates.
Hooray! Another victory for common sense restrictions!

Yet more evidence gun-control is working . . .

Gun crime soars in cities

GUN crime has soared by up to 50 per cent in violent inner-cities, a report reveals this week.

Police gun squads are close to breaking point as armed gangs roam the streets in record numbers.

The alarming Home Office figures will blow apart Tony Blair’s pledge to beat street crime.

Worst blackspot is the West Midlands, which has seen a 50 per cent rise in offences in 12 months.

In London, gun crime leapt by 25 per cent and West Yorkshire saw an 11 per cent increase.

MPs fear Britain is now close to arming all police. Cops toting pistols and machine guns are already a common sight in parts of Manchester.

The Tories called for ministers to get a grip before the crisis worsens. They claim young hoodlums even use weapons as fashion accessories.

Shadow Home Secretary Oliver Letwin said: “The Government has issued a crime-fighting initiative a week but it has had no effect.”

The figures prove Manchester chief constable Alan Green’s claim that gun crime is at “intolerable levels.”

And the Police Federation’s spokesman for Scotland Yard’s elite SO19 firearms squad said his colleagues were “close to bursting.”

Figures on Friday will show ALL offences up six per cent in a year.

The figure could be THREE TIMES higher under a new system which will count crimes not investigated.
